BEVERLY LAWRENCE - Clay Artist - The shapes and forms found in nature intrigue and inspire me. Looking for a way to express my feelings about the beauty I found around me, I studied Glass Blowing and Watercolour Painting before discovering that Clay Art was the vehicle which best suited the impressions of nature I wished to portray.
After studying the basics at Warwick College in England and Kwantlen College in Surrey BC, I have continued the journey of exploration over twenty four years. There are infinite ways to form and decorate the surface of clay, but I specialize in altering and adding to the forms while carving the surface of the clay.
While producing functional pottery for Gift Galleries and Art Galleries locally, throughout Canada and the USA, I have turned my attention to sculpture and am enjoying the new challenges this medium offers.
